The house next door to the firehouse

By Fireman Chris, August 28, 2009 10:28 AM

In case you didn’t notice from her blog, Sparkle has moved her’s to our new domain, and renamed it as well. Life in Motion has now given way to At a Kinky House.

Aside from her blog, she’s also renamed herself as well. You can read her explanation there, but Sparkle has now become Serenity Everton. Or Sparkle…as she says, she’ll still answer to that.

I still find this strange, even though it’s a change that’s been happening for some time now. Despite the fact that she’s my wife and I obviously don’t refer to her as Sparkle anywhere except online, I still think of her that way a lot of times. I knew her as Sparkle long before I knew her true identity…even as I was falling in love with her. I’ve bought her various things with the word “Sparkle” on it over the years.

I’m not sad at the thought of her reinventing herself somewhat, as she’s still the same brilliant, funny, sexy, loving woman that I married. And, after this post, I will do my best to begin referring to her as Serenity (at least on here). But don’t blame me too much if I slip and still call her Sparkle from time to time.

After all, I’m sure she’ll keep remind me of it when I do.

Welcome to my new blog

Sparkle and I have been talking about moving away from Blogger to our own domain for awhile, and we finally did. Welcome to kinkyfirehouse.com!

I’ve spent the past few days configuring the WordPress installations on our own personal subdomains and getting my own blog up and running (Sparkle will move her’s sometime later). I have to say, I’m very happy with the new look…especially the new header graphic that my lovely wife made for me.

We will probably eventually have a website of some sort on the root domain, but for now, all you’ll see is a rather boring placeholder page from our hosting provider.

I do have a new e-mail address on the doman as well: chris{at}kinkyfirehouse.com. For the moment, I’m keeping my Yahoo e-mail as well, but feel free to drop me a line on the new one if you want.

If you do have my blog linked from your site, please update your bookmarks with the new address. I’ll be leaving the old Blogger site up indefinitely, but I have imported all of the posts (and comments) from it to this site.

I feel a rant coming on

By Fireman Chris, April 24, 2009 8:32 PM

Can’t remember if I’ve posted something like this before, and too lazy to go check right now.

1) I don’t do “link exchanges”. Every blog that’s linked on here is one I read and have chosen to link to. Some have reciprocated, others have not. That’s fine and I believe it’s every blogger’s prerogative to link to (or not link to) what they want. It’s not a “tit for tat”. I don’t expect a link in return just because I’ve linked to someone…and hopefully, the people who have chosen to link to me have done so because they like my blog.

2) If someone links to me and I start seeing traffic from their site, I likely will go check their blog. If it’s something I’m interested in, I probably will link to them. I’ve found a lot of great blogs in this way. I do often also check the blogs of commenters (especially frequent ones) and have found some great ones…and made some good friends…in that way.

3) If you send me e-mails saying “Hey, I like your blog. Let’s exchange links.” I will most likely just ignore it, especially if you’re someone I don’t already know. If you’ve made the effort to get to know me first, I’d probably be more receptive, though I find it a lot more polite to be asked to look at someone’s blog rather than just point-blank asked to link to it.

4) If you leave comments asking for a link exchange, I will definitely delete them and I won’t be checking out your blog. If you want to comment on my writing, please do. If you want to use comments as a way to spammily promote your blog or site, please don’t…the comment won’t be up very long.

I think that about covers it.

Adding to the blog roll

Another batch of new blogs.

Happy reading.

More to read

Adding a few new blogs to my list again.

I actually added a link to Jenni Mack’s blog, My Dirty Little Secret, when I added Barbie’s blog a few weeks ago, but didn’t specifically point it out. I’d been reading her blog for some time when, lo and behold, I discovered that she is now one of Shadow Lane’s newest models in the third installment of the ever-popular Mischief Makers series.

The other blogs I’m adding are from a couple that also have a Shadow Lane connection. Radagast and Cassandra (Sandy) are friends that I met at last year’s party when they hosted the newcomers party…right across the hall from our room. They’ve also active on the Shadow Lane members chat and bulletin board and have recently become active on FetLife (as Radagast and Cassandra) .

Rad’s blog is relatively new and is called Radspace. Sandy maintains two blogs: This Cat is Crazy and The Corporal Consultant.

Speaking of FetLife, a number of friends from here have joined (and my apologies if I’ve missed anyone):

sparkle – my ever-loving wife, author of Life in Motion, Fiction in Motion and contributor to The Punishment Book
katejames – author of The Wonderful World of Kate James and Impishly: My Life, Uncensored…Raw
bridget – author of Kinky Little Girl
Erica – author of Life, Love, and Spanking According to Erica
spankingbarie – author of The Blogs of a Mid Life Crisis
Sarah_Rocks – author of Bratty’s World
Nattys – author of Natty’s Spanking Blog and contributor to The Punishment Book
shadowlane – Tony Elka, one of the owners of Shadow Lane

If there’s anyone else on there who I haven’t found yet, feel free to drop me a note or a friend request at FiremanChris.

Spanking Barbie (no, not the doll)

By Fireman Chris, July 8, 2008 10:15 PM

I have a new friend and a new blog to share with you all. Especially since she’s been bratting me incessantly for the past week or so to write a blog post all about her.

The good news is that I’ll get to spank her for it at the Shadow Lane party next month. And trust me, I will.

Barbie and I met on the Happy Tails chat a couple months ago. Her first or second night in the chat, I believe.

Her blog, titled The Blogs of a Mid Life Crisis, began on her MySpace, but she moved it over to blogger a week or so ago. It’s not much about spanking yet…in fact, only two of 87 entries mention the “s” word…but it’s definitely written from the heart and gives you a real insight into the woman she is. And I suspect spanking will make more of an appearance the more she gets her backside reddened in the future.

And that woman is a true spanko. She’s just beginning to explore the kink, but she’s taking to it with gusto. She even wants me to use the dreaded ebony hairbrush on her, and is looking forward to the experience…and the rest of you (you know who you are) better not try to talk any sense…umm, talk her out of it.

Anyway, check out her blog: it really is good. Or go friend her on MySpace. Or check out the pics she’s posted in Happy Tails (I’ll make you search for those).

And I’ll be sure to post about how she “liked” the ebony brush when I get back from Vegas.
